I love birds but I don't have one at home because I believe that they ought to be free and flying in the wilds. Unlike other domestic animals like dogs and cats, keeping birds in your house and, worst of all, caging them is really inhumane. Dogs and cats could go around wherever they want and go back home but that is not the case with birds. People have to leash or put them in a cage to prevent them from escaping. Now, how would they be able to make use of their God-given gifts—their wings?
I'm not really saying that those people who've got pet birds with them should be condemned. I know that there are certain birds really need human help in order to survive and do not go extinct. Anyway, the bottom line is that if it's not that burdensome or damaging on our part to give someone or something their freedom then why not give it to them now.
